First things first, so put on that life jacket especially if you are not very good at swimming. Some people will feel confident about their swimming skills but the others should definitely wear a life vest. Hit waves from the front. Although it will reduce the amount of air needed to float your watercraft, it is a smart precaution to minimize the chances of something bad happening to you.
Remember that the various Jet Ski models they may have slight differences. From Seadoo to Yamaha to Kawasaki, never assume that you will “get used to it” before taking a couple of test rides with someone who has some experience with them. It’s always good to take precautions even when you become a pro.
