Glamping
Ahhhhhhh. The joys of camping. Who could forget? Sleeping under the stars. Waking to discover that you have been infested with ants. Eating food that never did get quite cooked because you could only get the fire started, sort of. Then there's the dirt that always manages to get into your food. Yummy. And who could forget all of those pleasant smelling outhouses. Okay. We won't go there. Fortunately, now that you are grown up, there is an alternative, and you don't need to plunk down a hefty amount of money that otherwise would have bought you a house. It's called "glamping," and it's the rage among all those who can't get camping out of their systems, and don't want a Marriott or a Hyatt too far from them.
Glamping?
Yep. It's a combination of "camping" and "glamor," and what results when you mix the two is plenty of fun and adventures, without a lot of the other stuff. A simple Google search for "glamping" will turn up great results showing you what it is, which is defined to a great extent on what you call it. Make no mistake about it. Glamping is not another word for another hotel room, although that could be included. Instead, glamping could find you outfitted in anything from a yert (okay, we'll wait until you look that one up) to a treehouse overlooking a moonlit bay. A glamping trip might find you being awakened by your African tour guide to prepare you for the day's adventure or by the pro who is there to start you on your tee time.
More Good News
If all of this sounds like a lot of fun, it is. And the good news is that what often makes glamping even more fun is that it can consist of practically anything you want it to. It can be as glamorous or as "primitive" as you wish, but the point of being primitive is that it has been made special just for you. There are companies that specialize in glamping around the world, which is part of the fun since glamping is often enjoyed in some of the most exotic places the world has to offer. Even better, although some of these trips can be quite expensive, they are often quite reasonable in cost. What matters is that as compared to your camping adventures of the past, glamping will be an experience you will never forget, but for all of the good reasons, and none of the mosquitos.
