Bubble Soccer
If you are looking for a way to have some great fun, benefit from lots of exercise, and get some good laughs along the way, Bubble Soccer or Zorb Soccer might be just the thing for you. It doesn't take much imagination to determine what exactly bubble soccer is. Just picture yourself inside of an inflatable plastic bubble while running around a field playing soccer. Sounds pretty easy, doesn't it? The trouble is that most players hardly have a word for it when they are struck or fall and end up bouncing and rolling all over the field. That's where the laughter comes in. It will be either you or whoever is watching who will end up in fits of laughter.
Bubble soccer is a relatively new sport, but the fun of it is a huge determiner of how fast it has grown. There's already a national organization that promotes the game as well as the safety of it, as well as sale of the equipment. The truth be told, however, there isn't a lot to it besides the big plastic balls and the goal markers.
In the past few years, bubble soccer has become immensely popular on college campuses and in community based groups across the country. It can get rough, but as you can probably quickly figure out, how hurt can you get while encased in a huge plastic bubble?
No matter how protected you are, the game of soccer is still the main object to the game, which might be difficult to remember when you are having so much fun being bounced about on the field. In fact, the fun of the sport has caused a lingo all of its own. This includes the "Tortoise Shell," which is when you are bounced off of your feet, only to end up upside down and unable to get back on your feet, but isn't that what teammates are for? Then there's "dangling," which is when you are struck and are forced to roll over, but you don't have the momentum to recover on your feet, leaving you to literally dangle, your feet in mid air. Humiliating? Sure it is, but it's a lot of fun.
Bubble soccer can be enjoyed as a community game, an organized match, or even a part of league play. Regardless of how you want to do it, it's plenty of fun for everyone, whether it's the contestants or those watching. You can be sure that everyone will have more than their share of laughs.
