Power Paragliding
Are you the kind of person who looks to the sky, watching the birds soar by and wishing you could do that too? When you were a kid, did you ever hang a towel over your back with a safety pin and swore that you if you could get enough speed, you had little doubt that you could reach the clouds? If you are reading this, you must have survived those early childhood dreams, but perhaps that yearning is still deep in your soul. Did you know that you could still bring that inner kid to the surface and enjoy that restless spirit again? You can. All you have to do is enjoy a single session of power paragliding PPG.
More Than Rocket Man
Power paragliding, also known as paramotoring is an exciting sport that is rapidly gaining popularity in North America and abroad. With power paragliding, the pilot wears a motor attacked to a backpack like device that is strapped to his back and a paramotor wing that is attached to a harness. The paraglider can be launched in still air from the ground, on level ground, and no assistance is required for launch. The power used to fly is regulated with a throttle that the pilot reaches with his hands. And when it's time to land, the pilot simply slows the motor until he reaches the ground and can come to a running stop. Besides this throttle control, there is no other mechanisms to use during flight.
In most countries, power paragliding requires no license and there is very little regulation of the industry. The one complaint that is often heard is about the noise that is often generated by power paragliders. This problem has led many municipalities to restrict their operation to nonresidential areas.
And More Fun Than Rocket Man
Although there is considerable use of power paragliding in areas that are difficult to reach either by wheel or air, the primary use of the equipment is in the sporting arena. Research has shown that despite not having any protective covering over the pilot, power paragliding is one of the safest means of travel available. It is partially for this reason that a boon has been experienced when it comes to growth in the use of power paragliders. Besides, they're fun to use, especially when two or more paragliding pilots fly in unison or fly together with another rider in tandem with them.
